Singaporean music producer Ken Lim Chih Chiang, 58, has been charged with molestation on Mar. 30 morning.

Lim is the executive director of Hype Records and was better known as one of the judges on reality singing competition Singapore Idol.

Charged with molest but not pleading guilty

Lim was charged with one count of outraging a woman's modesty by using criminal force to touch a woman's breast on Nov. 23, 2021, who was then 25 years old, at the Hype Records office.

He was represented by Navin Naidu from Dentons Rodyk. Lim's wife was also present in the court.

Navin said that Lim "maintains innocence unequivocally" and "denies the charge".

Lim will not be pleading guilty too.

Navin sought for the Lim's pre-trial conference to be heard on Apr. 10, adding that he's pushing for urgent trial dates since Lim has been investigated for more than 15 months.

The pre-trial conference was set to be on Apr. 14.

Lim was offered bail of S$10,000. The victim's identity is protected under gag order.

Under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, whoever assaults or uses criminal force to any person, intending to outrage or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby outrage the modesty of that person, shall be punished with a jail term of up to two years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
